Ligue 1 giants suspend manager

Marseille have announced they have suspended manager Michel with immediate effect and launched an investigation into his behaviour in the last three weeks.

Michel, 53, has been walking the managerial tight rope all season since replacing Marcelo Biesla in August.

Marseille have been in awful form all season and are currently only six points above the bottom three.

The Ligue 1 outfit have promoted assistant coach Franck Passi to oversee first-team matters until the end of the season and sports coordinator Basile Boli will assist him.
