Liverpool boss interested in Barcelona winger

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele to Anfield, reports Spanish publication ElDesmarque.

The Reds have been credited with a long standing interest in the Frenchman, who has failed to really hit the heights expected of him following his arrival in Barcelona.

Injuries have curtailed Dembele's development in Spain, with the 22-year-old limited to just five league appearances this season, two of which have been from the bench.

Barcelona remain keen on bringing Neymar back to Camp Nou and it could be that Dembele is sacrified in order to make room for the Brazilian, which would appeal to Klopp and Liverpool.

Klopp is hoping to add another wide forward to his squad to provide competition with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for starting spots.

However, if Barcelona are prepared to sanction the Frenchman's sale, Liverpool would face stiff competition for Dembele.

Dembele has scored just one league goal this season, that coming in a 4-0 win over Sevilla, but a lack of goals and assists is unlikely to deter potential suitors.
