Aston Villa are one of many clubs tracking the progress of Barnsley captain Conor Hourihane, according to the Irish Sun, via Birmingham Mail.
Barnsley only signed the 25-year-old from Plymouth Argyle two summers ago but he has proven an instant hit in the Championship following their promotion to England’s second tier over the summer.
Hourihane’s performances have been so impressive that they’ve caught the eye of many clubs, including Villa, Celtic and Rangers.
The Barnsley No.8 is the second highest rated player in the Championship (8.20) having played a direct hand in six goals in as many league appearances (two goals, four assists) this season.
