Which Bayern forward topped the charts in the Bundesliga this weekend?
Pep Guardiola’s men made it seven wins from seven in the Bundesliga this weekend when they comprehensively beat Mainz 05 3-0 on Saturday as Robert Lewandowski took his tally to seven goals in his last two matches with a brace at the Coface Arena.
However, even Lewandowski’s feats weren’t enough to earn him the star player for the weekend in Germany’s top-flight (8.88). That right was in fact reserved for his new teammate, Kingsley Coman (9.31).
Coman, 19, only joined Bayern on an initial two-year loan deal over the summer on, but has already hit the ground running having directly contributed to three league goals in as many appearances.
The French striker even scored his first goal for the club at the weekend, as well as laying on the assist for Douglas Costa’s second half strike.
Coman was a constant threat going forward during the match, completing more dribbles than any other player (4), but he was also useful in defence with only Thiago Alcantara (4) winning more tackles than the teen for Bayern (2).
The long-term absences of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben looked to be a real problem for Guardiola at the start of the season, but Coman’s bright start to live at Bayern has given them another dimension to their already startling frontline.
