Cavani agrees deal with Atletico Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani will join Atletico Madrid on a three-year deal at the end of the season, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

Cavani's current PSG deal is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and the French giants are not interested in renewing his contract.

The Uruguay international has dropped completely out of favour under Thomas Tuchel this season but has seemingly already sorted out his next club.

Atletico have been linked with a move for Cavani for most of the season in a bid to solve their woes up front.

Diego Simeone's side are currently seven points off top spot and have scored only two goals more than 18th-place Mallorca.

Cavani has made just eight league appearances so far this season and only four of those have been starts.

Despite a decent goalscoring record, Cavani has only reached 20+ league goals in two of his previous six campaigns.
