Chelsea signing frustrated and could leave

Danny Drinkwater is considering his Chelsea future less than six months at the club, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Chelsea signed Drinkwater from Leicester in a deal worth £35m in January but the England international has endured a miserable time at Stamford Bridge.

Drinkwater has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular under Antonio Conte and may push to leave the club at the end of the season.

Moving to Chelsea has ruined Drinkwater’s chances of making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2018 World Cup and the 28-year-old is growing extremely unsettled at the club.

Conte is widely expected to leave Chelsea in the summer and in this instance Drinkwater will wait to hear from Conte's successor whether he has a future at the club before making a decision to leave.

Chelsea are already facing the prospect of losing summer signing Alvaro Morata and now Drinkwater could follow the Spaniard in leaving the defending Premier League champions.

Drinkwater has only started 12 games in all competitions since joining Chelsea and hasn’t featured in more than a month.
