Chelsea have announced Victor Moses has signed a new contract extension keeping him at the club until 2021.
Moses, 26, has established himself as an integral member of Antonio Conte’s first team plans since the Chelsea manager switched the side to a 3-4-3 formation and has been rewarded with a new deal for his surprising campaign.
The 26-year-old had barely been given a look-in at Chelsea prior to Conte’s arrival and looked destined to leave the club last summer after five years at the club that has seen him embark on three separate loan spells.
“I feel very excited,” Moses told the club’s official website. “I’m delighted to be here for another few years now and to sign a new deal. Now it’s time to concentrate on the team and keep working hard to make sure we win games and try to win the Premier League this season.
“We’re having a great season, I’m enjoying my football and we have a good manager here that has given every single one of us confidence. I just want to keep on enjoying it and working hard for the team.”
The Nigeria international has made the role of Chelsea’s right wing-back his own since Conte swapped formation back in September, which coincided with their staggering run of good results.
In fact, Chelsea have won 17 of the 20 league matches Moses has started in (85% win ratio) this season, compared to just three of the first six matches of the season.
