West Ham confident Lanzini will sign new deal

West Ham are confident that key attacker Manuel Lanzini will put pen to paper on a new deal at the London Stadium this summer, reports the London Evening Standard.

The Argentine midfielder is contracted to the Hammers until 2020, but are keen to bump up is wage to £70,000 a week to ward off interest in Lanzini, with Everton and Tottenham believed to have taken a liking to the 24-year-old in recent months.

The east London side have recently extended the contracts of Angelo Ogbonna and Pedro Obiang, but the signature of Lanzini, who made his Argentina debut against Brazil last month, will constitute the biggest boost for Slaven Bilic’s side.

Lanzini’s good form for the Hammers saw him named Players’ Player of the Year for West Ham, with his performances equally impressive in the wake of Dimitri Payet’s return to Marseille at the turn of the year.

It’s been a slow summer for West Ham, with the arrival of Pablo Zabaleta their only signing during the off season.

However, they club remain interested in a new striker and while they appear to have missed out on kelechi Iheanacho and Olivier Giroud, are confident of landing Javier Hernandez, while Michy Batshuayi is another target.
