Paul Pogba has thrown his future at Manchester United into serious doubt after hinting at a stunning January move away from his boyhood club.
The 25-year-old is currently on international duty with France in what will feel like a welcomed escape from life under Mourinho at United.
Pogba’s relationship with the United manager has strained significantly since the backend of last season to the point where his agent tried to broker a transfer in the summer.
Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for the 2018 World Cup winner and some of their players have already gone on the charm offensive to prise him to Spain.
Luis Suarez and former United centre-back Gerard Pique have both revealed they would welcome Pogba’s arrival at Barcelona and now the United No.6 has hinted at a January exit.
“There was a lot of talk, but it was just like that, I am under contract in manchester,” Pogba told Sky Germany, via the London Evening Standard.
“My future is currently in Manchester, I still have a contract, I am playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the next few months.”
Reports emerged overnight claiming Pogba and held clear-the-air talks with Mourinho and agreed not to push for a January move.
However, the midfielder’s latest comments have done nothing to squash speculation about his future at the club.
Pogba has scored two penalties in United’s opening four league games this season but missed from the spot in their comfortable 2-0 win away to Burnley last weekend.
Since returning to United, Pogba is the club’s highest WhoScored rated player (7.60) in the Premier League (5+ apps).
