Barcelona set to trigger buy-back clause in academy graduate

Barcelona are ready to offer yet another former player a route back to Camp Nou this summer, with Gerard Deulofeu the latest tipped for a return according to The Times.

The winger failed to convince Ronald Koeman of his worth in the first half of last season at Everton and was subsequently allowed to leave on loan to AC Milan in January.

Having impressed for the Italian outfit, who were keen to make a deal permanent, interest has mounted in the winger and now Barcelona seem ready to trigger a buy-back clause in the player’s contract.

A fee in the region of £10.5m is thought to be enough to see Deulofeu, currently on duty at the Euro U21 Championships, seal a comeback to the Catalan club.
