AC Milan have made a breakthrough in discussions with Lazio for Lucas Biglia and are now on the verge of securing a €17m (£15m) deal plus add-ons for the experienced midfielder, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
Vincenzo Montella’s side have been locked in talks with Lazio for most of the summer as the Serie A giants look to bolster their midfield options with the experience of Biglia.
The 31-year-old only joined Lazio’s pre-season training camp on Thursday but was met by an angry group of supporters that demanded he leave the club.
Biglia will now make his way to Milan to undergo his medical and complete his transfer to Montella’s side as they continue their spectacular summer spending spree.
Milan have already spent over £100m on seven new signings this summer and are also on the brink of completing a stunning £35m to sign Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci.
In the last four Serie A campaigns only Allan (477) and Marco Parolo (402) have completed more tackles than Biglia (371).
