Juventus midfielder unsure on future at the club

Sami Khedira won’t be allowed to leave Juventus before the end of the season but his long-term future remains uncertain, claims Calciomercato, via Football Italia.

The Germany international’s current deal is due to expire at the end of next season and Juventus usually prevent players from entering the final 12 months of their contract.

Juventus are keen for the 30-year-old to stay at the club and are planning contract talks, but Khedira is unsure whether he wants to stay in Turin beyond the end of the season.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side look destined to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can on a free transfer this summer, which could make Khedira’s mind up for him.

Juventus already have a packed midfield and the arrival of Can would only limit Khedira’s game time, while a move to MLS has been mooted for the former Real Madrid midfielder.

Khedira has scored 13 league goals during his three seasons at Juventus, which is seven more than he managed during five years at Madrid.
