The agent of Milan Badelj has told Fiorentina he has no interest in renewing his deal after the club rejected “important offers” from other clubs in the summer.
Badelj, 27, has entered the final two years of his existing deal with the Viola and the Serie A outfit will be understandably keen to tie down the central midfielder for longer than that.
However, they could hit a stumbling block after his agent, Dejan Joksimovic, insisted he would not look to extend after being denied the chance to speak to other clubs this summer.
“[AC] Milan made an offer, but it wasn’t only them,” he told FirenzeViola, via Football Italia. “Fiorentina also rejected two offers from abroad, one from Germany and one from England. He would’ve earned twice as much as he does now.
“His renewal? Let me be clear: we don’t intend to renew his contract with La Viola, so Badelj, at the end of the season, or between the next two years, will leave Florence.
“Milan is a good person, but I think it’s normal for any worker, especially for a player who turns 28 soon, to want better results, especially, more substantial earnings. [Fiorentina] rejected very important offers.”
In the two Serie A campaigns only Davide Astori (62.3) averages more passes per game for Fiorentina than Badelj (56.9).
