Lukaku admits doubts over Manchester United future

Romelu Lukaku has conceded he is unsure whether he will still be at Manchester United next season.

The Belgium international has spent the last two years at United after completing a £75m move from Everton in the summer of 2017.

Lukaku has divided opinion at Old Trafford in that time and has not entirely convinced new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 25-year-old’s camp has fuelled talk of a switch to Serie A and there is a feeling United will listen to offers for the striker this summer.

Lukaku refused to pledge his future to United after their 1-1 draw with former club Chelsea on Sunday but instead hinted at a potential exit.

“I don’t know, I am not here to entertain rumours. I am still under contract,” The Guardian quote Lukaku as saying at the weekend when asked whether he would stay at United.

It is also thought qualifying for next season’s Champions League hinges on Lukaku’s decision, who is desperate to prove his is an elite striker.

United are six points off fourth with two games remaining and have an inferior goal difference to Chelsea.

Lukaku has only managed 12 league goals this season and is on course to have his worst campaign in front of goal since the 2013/14 campaign (10 goals).
