Calhanoglu admits United interest is hard to reject

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu admits a move to Manchester United or Barcelona would be hard to ignore.

Calhanoglu, 21, has been linked with a move to both clubs in the past and United reportedly sent scouts to watch him last month.

The Turkey international refused to be drawn on his future, but did admit it would be hard to resist the allure of Barcelona and Manchester United.

“Barcelona and Manchester United are huge clubs and it would be difficult to turn them down, but I have not said anything about any transfers or anything of the sort,” the Leverkusen midfielder told Lig TV.

Calhanoglu has developed a reputation for being a free-kick specialist and since the start of the 2013/14 campaign, no player has scored more free-kicks across Europe’s top five leagues than the Turkish midfielder (11).
