Chelsea are considered frontrunners to sign Ben Chilwell and could even make a move for the Leicester left-back as early as January, claims The Daily Mail.
The Premier League giants are currently serving a FIFA-imposed transfer ban but Frank Lampard's side hope to be given the all-clear to sign players in the winter window.
Chilwell has emerged as England's first-choice left-back in the last 12 months and has previously been linked with moves to Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Both Manchester clubs are understood to be interested in signing a new left-back for the long-term but Chelsea have emerged as favourites.
Lampard has rotated between Emerson and Marcos Alonso at left-back this season, though the latter wanted to leave in the summer.
Leicester demanded a world record fee from Manchester United for Harry Maguire and will command a similarly high figure for anyone interested in signing Chilwell.
United spent in the region of £45m to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in the summer, while City have spent even more to sign the likes of Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy in recent years.
Leicester are under no pressure to sell Chilwell, who is now England's first-choice left-back, as the 22-year-old's current deal is not due to expire until the summer of 2024.
Since the beginning of last season, only two defenders have completed more dribbles in the Premier League than Chilwell (54).
