Liverpool face fight to keep key man

Liverpool face a battle to keep Jurgen Klopp at Anfield with Bayern Munich keen on bringing the German to the Allianz, reports the Sunday Mirror.

Carlo Ancelotti is under pressure to turn the club’s fortunes around after back-to-back defeats to Borussia Dortmund and FC Rostov.

Bayern earned a hard fought win against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, but the Bundesliga champions are still three points off first placed RB Leipzig.

And Klopp has emerged as the club’s first choice target should Ancelotti be axed from his role for the German giants.

Bayern fans are supposedly becoming frustrated at Ancelotti’s more studied approach compared to the high pressing game adopted during Pep Guardiola’s three years at the club.

Klopp, then, would be the ideal fit to bring in a similar style, with his approach working wonders for the Reds this season.

Liverpool currently sit one point off top in the Premier League and have scored more goals (32) than any side in England’s top tier this term.

Klopp only recently penned a fresh six-year deal at Liverpool in the summer, but Bayern would be confident they can lure the Reds boss back to Germany.
