PSG close in on Arsenal target

PSG are closing in on the signing of Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg, reports ESPN.

Arsenal were strongly linked with a move for the Germany international when it emerged that the Bundesliga side would be selling the attacker next month.

They faced competition for his signature, but look to have missed out on the 23-year-old.

On Thursday PSG supposedly agreed a fee with Wolfsburg for the signing of Draxler for an initial outlay of €35m, with the potential fee to rise to €45m depending on performance based bonuses.

Draxler has been criticised for a poor attitude after he failed to secure a move away from Wolfsburg over the summer, though did provide the assist for Mario Gomez’s goal in a 2-1 win at Gladbach in midweek.

A move for the German attacker suggests that PSG are willing to allow Jese to leave after the Spaniard struggled with injuries and form following his switch to the French side.

Las Palmas have been linked with a loan move for Jese, with Draxler’s impending arrival opening the door for the Real Madrid man to return to Spain.
