Vertonghen set to be latest Spurs player to pen new deal

Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen looks set to be the next player to put pen to paper on a new deal at White Hart Lane, reports the Independent. 

No fewer than seven players have extended their contract at the club in the last two weeks, with Kyle Walker the latest to sign a new deal. 

Vertonghen is now set to become the eighth player to pledge his future to the club, with a contract expected to be signed in the coming days. 

The Belgian has played every minute for Spurs in the Premier League this season, with his WhoScored rating (7.39) the fifth best at the club.
