Real Madrid target returning to Premier League

Porto are not planning to make Miguel Layun’s loan spell from Watford permanent at the end of the season, reports Portuguese newspaper A Bola, via Sky Sports.

Layun, 27, made just three appearances for Watford this season before Porto snapped up his services on loan for the season.

Real Madrid have previously expressed an interest in the left-back as they look to add cover for Marcelo in the summer, and there had been suggestions Porto would take advantage of their option to buy Layun for €6m (£4.7m) to sell him to Madrid for a bigger fee.

However, the Portuguese giants have reportedly made it clear they will not make his temporary stay permanent, paving the way for him to return to Vicarage Road at the end of the season.

Layun has been a regular for Porto this season, starting 25 matches in the league with a further four appearances coming in cup competition and another eight in Europe.
