Aguero could make stunning return for Manchester City this weekend
Sergio Aguero could make a stunning return to action for Manchester City when they host Stoke on Saturday, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The 29-year-old was involved in a car accident in Amsterdam over a fortnight ago and was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his ribs.
It wasn’t long ago that Aguero was unable to leave his house due to the pain and it was thought he could miss up to six weeks through injury.
However, the City striker returned to training earlier this week and showed no ill-effects on Wednesday, but Pep Guardiola’s side will not take any unnecessary risks on his fitness.
Aguero will be assessed on Friday and a decision will be made on his availability for Saturday’s encounter with Stoke as City look to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
The Argentina international is only one goal shy from equalling Eric Brook’s record as City’s all-time leading goalscorer after starting the season with seven goals in eight competitive appearances.
