Ivory Coast international linked with MLS move

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote is subject to interest from MLS side New England Revolution, claims The Sun.

Tiote, 29, is into the final 18 months of his current deal with Newcastle and the Revolution are hopeful of luring him away from St. James’ Park as their marquee signing for the next campaign.

The Ivory Coast international has been out of favour at Newcastle since the turn of the year and has suffered from a series of injuries that have limited him to just eight league appearances this calendar year.

Tiote have developed a reputation for his lack of discipline since joining Newcastle from Twente in 2010.

In fact, the Newcastle midfield enforcer has been booked at least six more times than any other player despite playing 50 fewer games than his nearest challenger (50 bookings).
