Leicester star could go for just £20m

Leicester City are facing the prospect of losing N’Golo Kante for just £20m in the summer as Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain step up their interest in the dynamic midfielder, according to The Daily Mail.

Kante, who was nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award on Wednesday, has been one of the signings of the season and his energetic performances at the heart of Leicester’s midfield have been integral behind their meteoric rise this season.

Claudio Ranieri will struggle to fend off interest for some of their stars in the summer and it has now been revealed Kante had a £20m release clause inserted in his contract when he joined from Ligue 1 side Caen last summer.

His performances this season have forced his way into Didier Deschamps’ France squad and he will almost certainly be named in the squad for the Euros in the summer, where the likes of PSG and Arsenal are expected to battle for his signature.

Indeed, no player has completed more tackles and interceptions combined across Europe’s top five leagues this season than Kante (280).
