West Ham baulk at Brentford's valuation of Benrahma

West Ham want to replace West Brom-bound Grady Diangana with Brentford's Said Benrahma but are refusing to match his £20m valuation, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Diangana is on his way to join West Brom in a permanent deal worth £18m and David Moyes has earmarked Benrahma as his No.1 replacement.

The 25-year-old was the star of the Championship last season and Brentford are resigned to losing him after missing out on promotion to the Premier League in the play-off final.

Brentford are paying hardball over fees for star man Benrahma and Ollie Watkins, demanding towards £28m for the latter.

Aston Villa have also been linked with moves for both players but, like West Ham, are not prepared to pay what they deem over-inflated prices in an uncertain market.

It leaves Moyes facing the prospect of not only losing a hugely talented academy graduate but also failing to replace him with his top target.

Benrahma finished the 2019/20 Championship regular campaign as the top WhoScored rated player in the division (7.51) with 17 goals and eight assists.

Moreover, the Algeria international ranked top for shots pg (3.9), second for dribbles pg (3.1) and joint top for most WhoScored Man of the Match awards (10).
