Middlesbrough have announced they have signed Alvaro Negredo from Valencia on a season-long loan deal.
Negredo, 30, endured an abysmal campaign with Valencia last season and Los Che have moved to get the former Spain international off their wage bill.
Middlesbrough will reportedly pay all of Negredo’s £100,000-a-weel wages and hold an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Negredo has had 25 clear-cut goalscoring chances over the last two La Liga seasons but only managed to score seven (28%).
