Manchester United target De Ligt delays decision on future

Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has revealed he will not make a decision on his future until after his holiday.

The 19-year-old is expected to complete a £70m move away from Ajax this summer after emerging as the most sought after prospect in Europe.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Manchester United are all vying for De Ligt’s signature after a breathtaking campaign in Holland.

Barcelona are considered the favourites for De Ligt but their European rivals are able to offer more money to the teenager.

It was thought De Ligt would make a decision after the UEFA Nations League finals but the Ajax skipper wants more time to mull over his options.

“I don’t know, I don’t know,” The Independent quote De Ligt as saying when asked by reporters on Sunday who he will play for next season.

“Now I am going on vacation and I just take a rest, relax and then I will see. When you rest, you have enough time to think so that’s good.”
