Atletico Madrid ace rejects Paris Saint-Germain

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has rejected advances from Paris Saint-Germain and will sign a improved terms with the La Liga side this summer, reports AS, via Allez Paris.

Oblak had been earmarked as a top transfer target for the Ligue 1 giants this summer as Unai Emery’s side look to sign a new first choice goalkeeper for next season.

However, any move became instantly more complex after Atletico were told by the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] last week that their attempts to overturn a FIFA-imposed transfer ban were unsuccessful.

Atletico would still be powerless to preventing the Slovenia international from leaving this summer if a club triggered his €100m (£87m) release clause, but Oblak, who was also linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, has told PSG he has no intentions of leaving the club.

Despite only signing a new five-year deal in February 2016, Oblak will reportedly be rewarded with fresh terms this summer that will significantly increase his salary as Diego Simeone’s side look to keep hold of their best players.

In the last three La Liga campaigns Oblak has kept at least eight more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper (46).
