Watford rejects £38.5m bid for Ighalo

Watford have turned down a £38.5m bid from Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG for striker Odion Ighalo, according to The Guardian.

Ighalo, 27, rejected an offer from a Chinese side in January, which would have pocketed him £300,000-a-week, and the Nigeria international has now been targeted once more for a lucrative move to Asia.

Shanghai SIPG broke the Asian club-transfer record earlier this week when they signed Hulk from Zenit St. Petersburg in a deal worth £46.1m but they are unlikely to land Ighalo after Watford rejected their staggering offer.

Ighalo finished as Watford’s top goalscorer in the Premier League last season (15) but only managed two league goals in 19 appearances in 2016.
