Leicester close in on £24.6m deal for Roma winger

Leicester have agreed a deal in principle to sign Roma winger Cengiz Under on loan with an obligation to buy next summer, claims The Guardian.

Brendan Rodgers' side will pay £24.6m for Under in total and have moved for the Turkey international after failing to prise Trincao from Barcelona.

Leicester wanted to loan Trincao for two years before signing the Portuguese forward permanently in a €40m deal but Barcelona were not interested.

Under has spent the last three years with Roma after emerging as one of Turkey's best talents with current champions Istanbul Basaksehir.

However, the 23-year-old has struggled to live up to the billing at Roma and the Serie A outfit have now decided to cash in to boost their transfer kitty.

Under made just 18 league appearances for Roma last season and only 10 were starts, returning three goals and no assists for the Giallorossi.

Of players that made at least 10 starts in Serie A last season, only three players required fewer minutes per successful dribble than Under (one every 27.3 minutes of action).
