Premier League Flop Wanted to Replace Former Man City Star
While he spent the last week talking up a possible move to MLS, Radamel Falcao has become a potential target for Roma to replace Edin Dzeko according to reports in Corriere dello Sport.
Dzeko has scored just 8 goals in his 29 league appearances for the Giallorossi this season, with reports from Italy suggesting he has missed just one too many open nets. Only 2 players have missed more clear-cut chances in Serie A this season than the Bosnian (13).
Although Falcao has been sidelined by injury throughout most of the season, he insisted that he is “in the best conditions as I have been training with the team for two months now.
“I’m feeling OK and I need to play and compete. But I haven’t done it and that’s the boss’ choice.”
While the striker intimated that he still dreams of succeeding in the Premier League, he would be open to a move.
Questions remain over the Colombian’s fitness. He has averaged a league goal every 302.8 minutes since making the move to England. And made just a single 14 minute cameo since December last year.
Other stumbling blocks for the Serie A side are Falcao’s non-EU passport and his extraordinary wages — €7M per year.
