Paris Saint-Germain have approached Jose Mourinho to replace Laurent Blanc at the end of the season, according to Sky Sports News.
Blanc, who led PSG to their fifth straight Ligue 1 title in record time this season, only signed a new two-year contract extension with the club in February.
However, failing to progress into the Champions League semi-finals for the third year in a row has cast doubt over Blanc’s future at the club beyond the end of this season.
Mourinho, who has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in December, has regularly been linked with the hot seat at Manchester United and is widely expected to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford at the end of the season.
However, PSG may have thrown a spanner in the works after reportedly offering Mourinho the job.
Blanc’s boasts an impressive win ratio from his 110 league matches in charge since becoming PSG boss in 2013 (70,9%), but he has failed to get beyond the quarter-finals in the Champions League, which has led to frustrations from the board.
