Watford have secured the signing of Will Hughes from Championship side Derby County.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Hornets in recent weeks and on Saturday evening, Watford confirmed that the midfielder had penned a five-year deal at Vicarage Road.
“England Under-21 international Will Hughes has signed a five-year deal at Vicarage Road, Watford FC is delighted to confirm,” a statement read on the club's official website.
“Much coveted within Premier League circles over recent seasons, the creative midfielder joins from Championship Derby County for an undisclosed fee.
“The Surrey-born playmaker came through the youth ranks at Pride Park to make his debut as a 16-year-old in 2011.
“Hughes’ experience belies his tender years, with nearly 190 Rams’ appearances racked up by the central midfielder – who is still just 22 years of age.
“Currently representing his country at the European Under-21 Championships in Poland, the six-footer has scored twice in 17 games for the 21s having previously made England Under-17 appearances.
“Hughes will link up with Marco Silva’s squad subject to completion of medical tests on his return to the UK.”
Haven't followed the Championship for a couple of seasons, but he looked very promising before. He should be a great bargain at 7-8 million.
