Manchester United defender keen to link up with Tottenham boss

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is keen to link up with current Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, reports the Sun.

Shaw is widely expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season following a falling out with himself and manager Jose Mourinho.

The England international came off the bench in last night’s 1-1 draw with Everton and it was his shot that won the penalty that secured United a point late on.

Mourinho, however, was again critical of the young defender after the full time whistle, which will have further strained their troubled relationship.

And Shaw is now hopeful that he can secure a switch to Spurs where he would once again work under Pochettino.

The 21-year-old made his name under the Argentine boss during their time together at Southampton and believes Pochettino can reignite his stalling career.

Shaw is behind Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young in the pecking order at Old Trafford and could move to Spurs if they sell Danny Rose, who has been linked with a £50m summer switch to Manchester City.
