Manchester United ace Pogba wants Serie A return, hints Raiola

Mino Raiola has described Italy as a second home for client Paul Pogba amid reports Juventus are plotting a move to re-sign the Manchester United midfielder this summer.

Pogba has been angling for a move away from Old Trafford since the end of last season after feeling let down by United since his return in 2016.

The 2018 World Cup winner does not feel United have matched his ambition on the pitch and does not want to waste his best years playing for a team unable to compete for silverware.

United have not challenged for the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 and staggeringly 38 points behind league leaders Liverpool this season.

Pogba won the League Cup and Europa League during his first season back at United in 2016/17 but the club have not won any trophies since then.

United refused to sell Pogba last season and slapped a £150m asking price on his head to ward off potential suitors.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are reportedly coming round the idea of cashing in on the 26-year-old this summer and have even slashed their valuation.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wanted to sign Pogba last summer but the midfielder's agent has suggested Juventus is his preferred destination.

"Italy is like home for Paul," The Daily Mirror quote Raiola as telling reporters after Thursday's Coppa Italia semi-final between AC Milan and Juventus. "Paul wants to play at the best level but he can't escape by Manchester United if they are in a difficult situation."

Pogba has been limited to just seven league appearances this season due to two serious ankle injuries.

The 26-year-old is working hard to return for United and prove his fitness ahead of Euro 2020, with next month's Manchester derby pencilled in as a potential comeback.

Despite barely featuring for United this season, only two players have completed more through balls than Pogba (5) in the Premier League this season.
