Manchester City favourites to sign Monaco ace

Manchester City have moved ahead in the race to land Monaco starlet Thomas Lemar in the summer, according to L’Equipe, via Get French Football.

Lemar, 21, has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League throughout the season after enjoying a sublime campaign with Monaco.

The France international only joined Monaco from league rivals Caen in a deal worth €4m (£3.4m) in 2015 but the Ligue 1 leaders are hopeful of demanding €35m (£29.7m) for him at the end of the season.

City are not the only side reportedly interested in Lemar’s signature and Pep Guardiola’s side, who face Monaco in the last 16 of the Champions League, will be hoping to beat Chelsea to his signature this summer.
