Chelsea are eyeing a second Arsenal raid in the space of six months with Aaron Ramsey high among their list of transfer targets this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.
Antonio Conte’s side prised Olivier Giroud away from the Emirates in January and are now closely monitoring contract talks between Arsenal and Ramsey.
The Wales international will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Arsenal deal in the summer and Ramsey is demanding a significant wage hike in order to commit his long-term future.
Arsenal handed out big contracts to Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January and Ramsey’s camp believe the Welshman he is also deserving of improved terms.
Chelsea failed in their attempts to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain last summer but are ready to try their luck for Ramsey if no new deal is agreed with Arsenal before the end of the campaign.
Only Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette have played a direct hand in as many Premier League goals as Ramsey of all Arsenal players this season (12).
