Zinedine Zidane will sell Isco in the summer if he is still Real Madrid manager, reports Spanish television show El Chiringuito, via AS.
Madrid let James Rodriguez join Bayern Munich in the summer after Zidane pushed to keep Isco but the Frenchman feels let down by the 25-year-old’s performances this season.
While Rodriguez has flourished for Bayern, Isco has struggled to rediscover last season’s top performances and now Zidane plans to sell the Spain international.
However, that hinges entirely on whether Zidane is still the Madrid manager for next season as it is widely expected that Florentino Perez will seek a replacement.
Madrid have endured a disastrous season and Zidane’s only hope of salvaging the campaign is to win an unprecedented third Champions League title in a row.
Los Blancos are currently 19 points adrift of Barcelona and only two clear of fifth place, although they do have a game in hand over their rivals.
Isco has started 14 league games this season and made a further four appearances from the bench. Only Cristiano Ronaldo (11) has played a direct hand in more league goals for Madrid this season than Isco (9).
