Roberto Di Matteo has two matches to prove his worth to Aston Villa, according to The Guardian.
The 46-year-old was made Villa manager in the summer but has overseen just one win in their opening nine league matches.
Villa were one of the Championship’s biggest spenders in the summer and new owner Tonny Xia is reportedly running out of patience with Di Matteo and could sack the former Chelsea boss if he doesn’t win one of their next two matches.
Villa have lost more points from winning positions than any other team in the Championship this season (9). Had they seen out those matches, they would be third instead of 17th.
