Manchester City could face competition from Real Madrid for Benfica goalkeeper Ederson, according to the London Evening Standard.
Madrid look to have made signing a new No.1 goalkeeper this summer their top priority once again after being linked with a move to several of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Manchester United ace David De Gea are both on Madrid’s radar but the Premier League duo have received a boost in their attempt to keep their No.1 shot stoppers with news Madrid are now interested in Benfica’s Ederson.
The 23-year-old, who was sent off in Benfica's clash with Arouca on Friday, has already been linked with a move to City as Pep Guardiola looks to sign a new No.1 goalkeeper following Claudio Bravo’s struggles since joining from Barcelona at the start of the season.
Bravo, 35, is expected to return to Spain in the summer after losing his place in the team to Willy Caballero in recent matches with Ederson one of the goalkeepers the Premier League giants are weighing up a move for.
Only former Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas (11) has kept more clean sheets in the Portuguese Liga NOS this season than Ederson (10).

so Guardiola should buy Casillas
@koziol.mutant - And replace a 35 year old with a... 35 year old? Yeah, that'd make so much long-term sense!
