Arsenal have accepted Manchester City’s £60m bid for Alexis Sanchez, reports The Daily Mirror.
Pep Guardiola’s side have returned with an improved offer for the Chile international after their opening £50m bid was turned down this week.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted all summer that Sanchez would not leave the club despite entering the final 12 months of his existing deal.
However, Sanchez has been angling for a move to City to reunite with Guardiola all summer and is now on the verge of completing a stunning switch.
The deal hinges entirely on whether Arsenal can sign a replacement before tonight’s 11pm deadline, but reports now claim that the Gunners have launched a potential British record £90m bid for Monaco ace Thomas Lemar.
Since the start of last season, only Harry Kane (36) has scored or assisted more Premier League goals than Sanchez (34).
