Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been put on red alert after it emerged Wolfsburg could entertain offers for Julian Draxler, reports the Daily Mirror.
The young Germany international has been a long term target of the Gunners, yet they were priced out of a move for Draxler last summer.
However, Wolfsburg are now willing to listen to offers for the 22-year-old, which has seen Arsenal stand up and take notice.
He won’t come cheap, though, with the Bundesliga giants holding out for offers of around £55m for Draxler, who came close to a move to Juventus last summer.
Wolfsburg’s failure to qualify for the Champions League means they must make cut backs, with Draxler seen as their most profitable asset.
The German started four of Germany’s six Euro 2016 games, which included a man of the match performance in the 3-0 win over Slovakia.
Wenger missed out on Jamie Vardy this summer and is keen to bolster his attack and while Draxler isn’t an out and out striker, he believes the youngster can operate as the lead frontman.
