Loftus-Cheek to earn full England debut against Germany

Crystal Palace midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be handed his full England debut against Germany on Friday, reports Sky Sports.

Gareth Southgate has been left with the barebones of his England midfield for friendlies against Germany and Brazil following injuries to Dele Alli, Jordan Henderson, Harry Winks and Fabian Delph.

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater also turned down an England call-up as he is not fit enough, paving the way for 21-year-old Loftus-Cheek to make his senior bow at Wembley.

Loftus-Cheek joined Palace on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea over the summer and is finally getting regular playing time in the Premier League after failing to break into the first-team at Stamford Bridge.

The inexperienced midfielder is expected to line up alongside Eric Dier against reigning world champions Germany and will be looking to impress with the 2018 World Cup around the corner.

Of players that have made more than five Premier League appearances this season, only Eden Hazard (4.6) and Anthony Martial (3.9) are completing more dribbles per 90 than Loftus-Cheek (3.7).
