Atletico Madrid will look to take advantage of the stalemate between Barcelona and Celta Vigo to sign Nolito, according to AS, via Football Espana.
Nolito, 29, has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona in recent years and Luis Enrique’s side failed to bring the Spain international back to the Camp Nou in January.
The Celta Vigo ace is expected to feature prominently for Spain in the Euros this summer and interest is likely to hot up for his signature if Vicente del Bosque’s side go deep into the tournament.
Atletico will need to repair their relationship with Celta if they are to sign another of their stars following the messy transfer of Augusto Fernandez at the start of the year.
Only Lionel Messi (13) earned more WhoScored.com Man of the Match awards than Nolito (9) in La Liga last season. It is even more impressive that Nolito only featured in 12 matches.
