United turn down £19m for out-of-favour midfielder

Manchester United have rejected a £19m offer from Everton to sign Morgan Schneiderlin, reports The Guardian.

Schneiderlin, 27, has been given the greenlight to leave United this month after failing to make any impression on Jose Mourinho this season.

West Brom have already had a £13m offer rejected by the Red Devils and Everton have now failed with their own offer with United looking to recoup in excess of £20m for the former France international.

Schneiderlin joined United in a deal worth £24m from Southampton in the summer of 2015 but struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular under Louis van Gaal and has dropped completely out of favour in this campaign.

Since the start of last season United have actually got a far bigger win ratio with Schneiderlin in the team in the Premier League (58%) compared to when he hasn’t been in the starting XI (38.5%).
