Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is considering a move abroad in the summer when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to ESPN.
Carrick, 34, has entered the final few months of his current deal at Old Trafford and there are fears he will not be offered an extension after 10 years at the club.
The England international has only started 14 games in the Premier League this season, as he’s battled form and fitness throughout.
Delays in contract talks with Carrick have alerted other Premier League clubs with Arsenal rumoured to be interested in signing the United midfielder at the end of the season.
Under Van Gaal, however, Carrick’s influence in midfield is evident. Indeed, since August 2014, United have won 63.3% of league matches with Carrick starting compared to just 35.3% without him in the starting XI.
