Real Madrid starlet requests transfer

Martin Odegaard wants to leave Real Madrid after struggling for regular playing time this season, reports Marca.

Odegaard was one of La Liga's best performers last season on loan with Real Sociedad and Madrid decided to recall him 12 months early as a result.

The Norway international started the campaign as a first-team regular but has found playing time increasingly difficult to come by in recent months.

Odegaard has only got five minutes playing time across Madrid's last eight league matches, warming the bench on five occasions in that period.

The 22-year-old looked well placed to succeed Luka Modric after his displays last season but the veteran has re-established himself as a key player for Zinedine Zidane this term.

Seemingly not part of Zidane's immediate plans for the remainder of the season, Odegaard has sensationally asked to go out on loan again this month.

Odegaard played a direct hand in 10 league goals for Real Sociedad last season and finished 2019/20 with a WhoScored rating of 7.10.

Moreover, only two players, one being Leo Messi, registered more key passes per game than Odegaard (2) in La Liga last term.
