Manchester City match Aston Villa's £100m valuation for Grealish

Manchester City have made a £100m bid for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Not only are City willing to shatter their club-transfer record but Pep Guardiola's side are prepared to make Grealish the most expensive British player of all-time.

Harry Maguire's £80m move to Manchester United is the current British transfer record but City are set to obliterate that.

Grealish is due to make a decision on his future imminently with Villa prepared to offer him a bumper new deal to fend off City's interest.

Villa's owners are reportedly willing to offer Grealish £200,000-a-week in order to pledge his long-term future but City's bid will be difficult to ignore.

Grealish emerged as one of the best players in the Premier League last season but was limited to just one start at Euro 2020 for England.

A move to City to not only compete in the Champions League but enhance his chances of starting regularly for England will be of huge appeal to Grealish.

Only Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane garnered better WhoScored ratings than Grealish in the Premier League last season and Guardiola wants all three players at City for next season.
