Everton set to inflict double transfer misery on Arsenal
Everton manager Sam Allardyce will hand Theo Walcott a way out of Arsenal in January and also looks set to pip the Gunners to the signature of Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, reports The Daily Mirror.
Walcott has 18 months left to run on his current Arsenal deal but has dropped down the pecking order and is on course to miss out on Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2018 World Cup.
The 28-year-old has only made three substitute appearances in the Premier League this season and Everton will move for the versatile forward despite the fact Arsene Wenger has already ruled out his departure next month.
Allardyce is also growing increasingly confident of beating Arsenal to N’Zonzi, who looks set to leave Sevilla in January after falling out with the Spanish side.
N’Zonzi has missed Sevilla’s last six matches and Allardyce wants to reunite with the France international having struck up a good relationship during their time at Blackburn.
The 29-year-old has developed into one of the best central midfielders in Spain since leaving Stoke to join Sevilla in 2015. In fact, N’Zonzi is the only La Liga player that has completed more than 3000 passes since the start of last season.
With N’Zonzi poised to leave Sevilla next month, it’s worth investing in Football INDEX shares in the Frenchman now. His share price has dropped 1.94% in the last week but that will only increase once the January transfer window opens and media speculation intensifies.
