Chelsea look to beat Arsenal and Tottenham to signing of Serie A star

Chelsea are showing a strong interest in highly-rated Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu, reports Calcio Lecce.

The 19-year-old impressed in his first-ever senior league campaign last term, making 32 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi, netting two goals along the way.

Dorgu, who has represented Denmark at U18, U19, U20 and U21 level, is also said to be the subject of interest from north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

2022/23 Scudetto winners Napoli are another side reported to be in the race for Dorgu’s signature, with Lecce demanding a fee of around €30 million to part ways with the teenager this summer.

With Arsenal now close to wrapping up the signing of Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, the Gunners may not be as inclined as their fellow London sides to formalise their interest in Dorgu, but his situation remains one to watch.
