Arsenal and Tottenham eye Manchester United outcast

Arsenal and Tottenham are keen to lure Eric Bailly away from Manchester United, claims The Daily Record.

Bailly was the first signing made by Jose Mourinho as United boss in 2016 but the Ivory Coast international has dropped completely out of favour this season.

The 24-year-old, who cost United £30m, has arguably produced the best defensive displays of any of United’s defenders under Mourinho but has mysteriously been shelved by the Portuguese.

Bailly has only started three Premier League games this season, been repeatedly been left out of matchday squads this season and is now becoming increasingly unsettled with life at United.

With Mourinho set to reignite his search for a new centre-back in January, it leaves Bailly facing the prospect of even less game time at Old Trafford.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both tracking Bailly as a result and the north London rivals are set to battle for his signature in the new year.

United have a significantly better win ratio in the Premier League with Bailly in the starting XI (63.2%) compared to when he has not featured (50%).
